I provide thoughts, ideas, tips and advice on how you can get your story in front of those who matter to your organization. A main focus of my content is on working with media reporters so you can get consistent coverage and awareness about your product, service or organization.
I also write about how others are sharing their story, how they’re being successful, how social media, advertising, and marketing all play together so you can have more influence and impact on the people you serve.
When I feel compelled I’ll share a personal or professional story or two—to make a point or provide an analogy—from being a husband and father of two wonderful kids, working in radio, singing in a two-man band, getting paid as a voiceover talent, trying to entertain as part of an improv group, or playing football at The Ohio State University. I’m sure I’ll dig up some other analogies along the way.
My goal is to create and provide you with relevant, helpful content that you can use to further your organizational growth, and in some cases, your professional growth. I started my career in Chicago where I was fortunate to work with some of the best professionals in the industry from Chris Ruys Communications to Durk Rion Public Relations to Golin Harris. I also managed the marketing communications efforts for the Northern Illinois chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
I’ve had success and many grateful learning opportunities throughout my career. Along the way I developed a specialization in PR strategy and media relations, which has garnered attention for some of my clients in publications and outlets such as USA Today, New York Times, Associated Press, CBS Evening News, NBC Nightly News and Columbus Business First, among others.
Professionally, I am a member of The Ohio State University’s Varsity “O” Men’s Alumni Association, the Public Relations Society of America and I am a founding member of the Ohio chapter of the Association for Strategic Planning. I graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism with a concentration in public relations.
Personally, I have been married to my wife Cathy for 10 years. We are blessed with two kids who keep us busy. We live outside of Columbus, Ohio.
